San Blas

Once we arrived at our island we were given our breakfast which was a bread stick and a piece of processed american cheese but hey we weren't there for the food. There were two camps on the island and we stayed very segregated from the other camp. Our side had about 5 cabanas and a hut which was the store of the island where you could basically buy beer, water and soda oh and of course coconuts. Everything you purchased from the store was $1.
We met some really fun people on the island and some cute dogs. Our favorite was one we branded underbite!!! If I could have taken underbite home, I would have. He would have been very unhappy to be taken away from paradise though. We basically swam in the water which was the temperature of a bath. It was lovely. We lazed around in hammocks and at night hung out with our new Canadian friends a brother and sister Evan and Brianne and their friend Tyler we also had 2 Israelis a Swede and 2 other Americans in our camp. Everyone was super cool.
Included in our $14 boat trip was excursions to other islands. This was amazing. We went out to some other islands with not another soul to be found on them. They were filled with Coconut trees, coral beyond belief and shells that you could not imagine ever finding on the beaches of San Diego.
On one of our excursions we went out to a reef to snorkel with Efron and his first mate and 3 year old son Gregory. This boy never once had clothing on the entire time we were there. He entertained himself by singing aloud and playing with a huge piece of styrofoam. Slightly different from our overly spoiled American kids. He took a long nap on the boat and stayed asleep while Adam threw up over the side of the boat. He doesn't do so well with boats. I ventured off to a reef slightly farther away from the boat to see some more fish and when I poked about to see where the boat was I just about had a heart attack. I then proceeded to put my snorkel on and take in a huge gulp of sea water. It was fun! Our trip was amazing but we both agree that this place was the highlight and hope to visit again and again in the future.

Oh and for those of you that don't know, Adam and I have a slight fear of the water. I have to say I was hugely impressed on one excursion when the waves were slightly larger than other days and our captains flipflops went flying off and Adam jumped into the water in the middle of the Carribean and grabbed those flipflops giving me a major heart attack. I didn't know he had it in him.
